Finishing designing
In the last two weeks, I have put on the finishing touches of the shoes. Barring any slight alterations, my design is completed and I can move on to the next steps. Since the deadline for this project is coming close, I'm not sure if I will be able to still create the foam prototype, which I had originally planned at the beginning of the project. I think I will try to focus on presenting my ideas and my design for my presentation. Although I chose a style that is very similar to typical running shoes, my idea to provide ankle support is adding an additional brace on the inside. The "brace" will be much like the sole at the bottom of the shoe.

Just a fun idea for when you present if you have the prototype or not would be a slogan or poster like they have when they advertise. If you can't make the shoe for class you should try to sell them the imaginative shoe. You could come up with your own catch phrase and even have a design to go with it. Just a thought obviously if time is an issue then you can continue on the plans you have but I think it could be a creative way to show the class the results in the end.
ReplyDeleteYou should make a commercial with your shoe along with its benefits for the class to watch. Even if you don't have a prototype made yet you could present your design and show it to the class and discuss why it is different from any other shoe.
ReplyDeleteI agree that a commercial would be cool to do. Another thing you can do is try and use a mash up of different parts and shoes so that you can create a makeshift prototype. (take a running shoe you don't care about, and stitch in some of the braces, or use markers to show the changes that would be made to the original design.

I am glad to hear that you are happy with them and understand the time constraint issue on this project. I hope your presentation goes well. What do you plan to do with the shoe after the presentation? Maybe you should precede with the foam prototype after.
